Description
Atlantic House Mens Shelter in Brownsville, Brooklyn, is a 200-bed shelter that provides temporary emergency housing in a safe, supportive and drug-free facility for single men who are dually diagnosed with mental illness and substance abuse. Programs are designed to enable men to improve their ability to secure long-term permanent housing and become self-sufficient and to help them move to permanent housing. Meals, 24/7 security and on-site comprehensive services including case management, housing assistance, creative arts therapy, medical and psychiatric services are provided. Residents are also supported in accessing online resources, completing a virtual resume and applying for jobs.Eligibility: Homeless men who experience psychiatric illness, substance abuse and other issues; client referrals are determined by DHS Assessment Unit
